Every year in March, the Faculty of Civil Engineering focuses on professional exchange, with four renowned events taking place: the Dresden Hydraulic Engineering Colloquium, the Bridge Construction Symposium, the Glass Construction Conference and the Steel Construction Conference. The conferences address current challenges in the construction industry and offer space for knowledge transfer and networking. Registration is still possible for all events.

March 12-13 | 49th Dresden Hydraulic Engineering Colloquium

International Congress Center Dresden

This year's traditional hydraulic engineering colloquium is dedicated to the main theme
"Hydraulic engineering between technology and nature: multifunctional solutions for the future".

The conference is aimed at experts from administration, engineering practice, associations and science. Among other things, the focus will be on

• Nature-based and multifunctional solutions in cultural landscapes

• Resilient infrastructures and climate-adapted hydraulic engineering measures

• Digital tools from AI models to smart rivers

• Renaturation, sediment management and biodiversity

• Water management in post-mining landscapes

• Conflicts of use between water bodies and land areas

March 18-19 | 35th Bridge Construction Symposium

Dresden Trade Fair

With around 1,500 participants, the Bridge Construction Symposium is one of the Faculty's largest specialist events. The 35th edition once again offers a comprehensive forum on current developments in bridge design, construction and maintenance of modern engineering structures.

March 19-20 | Glasbau2026

Dülfer Hall, TU Dresden

Glasbau2026 is dedicated to innovative applications and research results relating to the material glass. The accompanying yearbook focuses on the following topics:

• Design and construction

• Research and development

March 26 | Steel Construction Conference

The conference month concludes with the Steel Construction Conference, which focuses on bridge construction, new Eurocodes and the recalculation and strengthening of existing structures. Technical papers will highlight current developments in European standardization. As usual, the presentations will be documented in the conference proceedings.
