Courses:
-
Construction technologies for the rehabilitation of railway bridges
7. Semester: 3 SWS Vorlesung - Railway-specific construction planning and technologies
7. Semester: 2 SWS Vorlesung | 1 SWS Übung
Applicability:
Compulsory elective module in the advanced study programme, in particular for the specialisations in construction management and structural engineering.
Prerequisites:
Basics of steel and timber construction (BIW2-01), reinforced concrete construction (BIW2-05), basics of construction (BIW2-06), project management and construction planning law (BIW2-10)
Qualifikationsziele:
The students are comprehensively familiar with the railway operating conditions as well as the construction technology options for the reconstruction or renewal of railway infrastructure objects under running traffic. They know the variants of operational management in case of deviations from regular operation and their basic technical implementation. They are also able to assess the effects of operational interventions on the capacity of a railway transport system.
Furthermore, they are able to design, plan and construct the renewal of railway facilities such as track superstructure and civil engineering, overhead line systems and engineering structures during ongoing operations and to realistically estimate the time and closure break requirements for these construction measures. They know the essential construction technologies for the renewal of railway bridges in operation and their application conditions and limits. They can correctly apply track- and road-based logistics and construction technology and classify them with regard to the construction process.
Working materials are provided in OPAL .
Requirements for the award of credit points:
The credit points are acquired if the module examination is passed. The module examination consists of a written exam (120min).
Credit points and grades:
8 credit points can be acquired through the module.
Frequency of the module:
Module is offered every academic year in the winter semester.
Workload:
The total workload is 240 hours.
