For the organization of the lectures in presence a prior enrollment in the learning portal OPAL is necessary!
Usability
Mandatory module in the main course of study for the specialization in structural engineering, compulsory elective module in the main course of study for the other specializations.
Prior knowledge
The competencies to be acquired in the modules of the basic studies (BIW1-01 to BIW1-11) as well as in the module Steel Construction and Timber Construction Fundamentals (BIW2-01) are assumed.
Course content
- Connection techniques (bolted and welded connections)
- Stability cases flexural buckling and flexural torsional buckling
The knowledge acquired in the lecture will be deepened in the exercises by means of exercises. The exercises and the normative bases (DIN EN 1993-1-1 Parts 1-1 and 1-8) should be brought along to the exercises. The same applies to the necessary table book and calculator.
The exercises are to be accompanied by assignments to be completed. The acceptance of the documents is a prerequisite for the examination. The independent work on the exercises is an important part of the preparation for the exam.
