Implementation of sea state forecasts at the Niemtsch reservoir ("Senftenberger See") using numerical simulations
Table of contents
Brief description
As part of the project, the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Technical Hydromechanics at TU Dresden (IWD) - Chair of Hydraulic Engineering was commissioned by the Brandenburg State Office for the Environment (LfU) to carry out hydraulic investigations at the Niemtsch reservoir (Lake Senftenberg). The core of the investigations was to carry out swell forecasts using numerical simulations, the results of which were to serve as the basis for further analyses of the geotechnical safety (stability) of the shoreline areas and embankment systems, which consist of grown, tilted or partially tilted soils. For this purpose, the sea state characteristics for various wind events and conditions over the entire lake area or shoreline were to be determined in the project.
