Excellent research and excellent teaching meet here. Um Studierenden möglichst unkompliziert einen längeren Auslandsaufenthalt zu ermöglichen, bieten wir Doppeldiplomprogramme mit Partnerhochschulen in Frankreich und Italien an.

The degree in civil engineering is still completed in Dresden with a graduate engineer. After successfully completing a distance study you will receive a bachelor's degree. The English-taught "ACCESS" course will be completed with a master's degree.

Tradition with Diplom

Civil engineers have a long tradition in Dresden. When the Technical Education Institute was founded in 1828 as a forerunner of TU Dresden, Andreas Schubert was already an outstanding civil engineer who not only taught, but also realized himself as an engineer: The first steam locomotive in Germany, He was responsible for steamships and the Göltzschtal Bridge (the largest brick bridge in the world). Civil engineers, Schubert showed more than a hundred years ago, are generalists with special knowledge – and they are now being held at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at TU Dresden by more than 20 professors and about 150 scientific staff at eleven institutes.

About 1,600 students are currently studying at our faculty, about 600 of them in distance learning. Unlike other universities, we continue to rely mainly on the proven and globally recognized degree as a graduate engineer, among other degrees and study.
