Sponsorship award from the BOYSEN Foundation
The Friedrich and Elisabeth BOYSEN Foundation and the Technical University of Dresden honor particularly outstanding dissertations by young scientists in the field of environmental technology with a focus on engineering solutions for reducing pollutants, noise and energy consumption with the Friedrich and Elisabeth BOYSEN Foundation sponsorship award.
The professors of TU Dresden are entitled to propose. Self-applications are also possible. The work is said to have been completed and successfully defended from January 1 to December 31, 2022. The Rectorate will accept proposals for the award by email by Friday, April 28, 2023 (contact person: Mandy Dziubanek, Mandy Dziubanek).
In addition to the form , a justification, a copy of the work, copies of the reports, the doctoral certificate and a curriculum vitae including a list of publications must be submitted. The award ceremony takes place on the day of the faculty of the award winner or in a corresponding festive setting at the TU Dresden.
The founder Friedrich August Boysen was an airship engineer who paved the way for modern silencer technology and founded his first company in 1921 in Leipzig. At the end of the Second World War, he made a new start in southern Germany and the birth of today's Boysen Group. His wife Elisabeth Boysen continued her husband's life's work and developed the company into an international system partner in the areas of exhaust gas cleaning and soundproofing. In 1996, the company was transformed into a non-profit foundation and has been promoting science and research in the field of environmental technology ever since, including through the annual award of a prize for outstanding dissertations at the TU Dresden. The sponsorship award comes with prize money of €5,000.
