Public guest lecture: Prof. Julia Wittmayer at the 2nd TUDiSC conference
TUDiSC,, the Disruption and Societal Change Center of the TU Dresden, opens its second conference with a public guest lecture by Julia Wittmayer. The lecture Emancipating social innovation? Beyond prefiguration towards disruption of the status quo forms the start of the conference under the motto "Systems of Agency in Face of Disruption".
Julia Wittmayer is an anthropologist and holds a doctorate in social sciences. She is currently working at the Erasmus University Rotterdam at the Institute for Transition Research DRIFT as an assistant professor and senior researcher. Accordingly, her research focuses on sustainability and the associated transformation processes. You are particularly interested in the following topics:
- social innovations as changes in social relationships and the societal fabric;
- the role of values and narratives in sustainable transformations;
steering sustainability transformations; - and the role of research and transdisciplinary engagement in (steering) sustainability transformations
Interested parties are welcome to the lecture on October 12th from 6:00 p.m. in the Heinz Schönfeld lecture hall. Lecture language is English. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for exchange during a reception.
