Equivalence Checks
Equivalence checks are used to assess degrees obtained abroad in order to verify whether they are recognized in Germany and qualify for the desired employment at the TUD. In the case of hiring a person who has obtained one (the highest) or more degrees abroad, an equivalence check is therefore necessary so that the recruitment procedure can be carried out.
For support on the subject of equivalence checks, please always contact the International Affairs Advisor of the department.

Please check the documents for completeness in advance to avoid delays in the equivalence check process!
As a rule, we need five working days to check the documents once they have been submitted in full. The processing time may be delayed if the documents are incomplete or incorrectly completed.
Please note that the processing time may be delayed in complicated cases. In this case, you will be informed by e-mail.
Please note : Equivalency examinations that are to be carried out before the end of the year must be submitted exclusively by email no later than seven working days before the start of the shutdown. In the winter semester 2024/25, this deadline is December 11, 2024. Applications received after December 11, 2024 can only be processed from January 6, 2025!
Please note that a recruitment contract will only be issued once the equivalence check has been carried out. To avoid delays in the recruitment process, you should therefore initiate the equivalence check at an early stage.
If you have any questions, please contact the International Affairs Advisor of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
