KlimaKonform I
KlimaKonform – Development of tools and a knowledge platform for climate-conform action in low mountain regions (Subproject)
Lead: | Technische Universität Dresden |
Duration: | 2020 – 2023 |
Funding: | Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) |
The aim of the joint project, in which 11 institutions are involved, is to develop the knowledge platform "KlimaKonform" to support local authorities in their decision making on adaptation to climate change. The Chair of Land Management is working on a common project module in cooperation with the Chair of Sustainable Management and Environmental Accounting (TU Dresden) and UNU-Flores.
Detection of climate relevant actors and their networks
Based on a social network analysis, a stakeholder analysis is carried out. Ego-centered networks are surveyed, which provide access to the realities of the stakeholders. Thus, relevant key actors for climate issues can be detected. Decision makers are identified and the "capacity development" can be targeted.
Assessing the resilience of build-up areas with a special focus on real estate
For the assessment of resilience, a tool will be developed that assesses the economic and ecological sustainability of community and business developments. It will take into account property values and sensitivities which also allows an economic evaluation of locations. Subsequent forecasts of changes are used to identify climate-related effects and to derive climate-related changes in value or the need for intervention in land use planning.

The Chair of Land Management contributes to the development of an integrative and action-oriented approach for the identification and assessment of capacities for adaptation to climate change in low mountain regions, which can be directly used for planning and decision-making practice by means of a decision support tool (DSS).
