24 [GGSC] Infoseminar Exchange of experience in municipal waste management 22-23.06.2023
We want to pass on practical tips and food for thought to you together with our prominent external Advisors - with over 30 contributions and program items at our 24th [GGSC] Info Seminar Barbara Metz (DUH) and Harald Welzer (FUTURZWEI. Stiftung Zukunftsfähigkeit) will form a joint panel on the topic of "Climate protection and the circular economy". Barbara Metz will report on the DUH's zero waste strategies in her role as Federal Managing Director. DUH would also like to highlight positive practical examples and will be awarding a prize to the "Green Recycling Center" in June. This will provide our participants with specific tips on how they can make their service offerings climate- and user-friendly for their customers on the road to climate neutrality. We look forward to further refreshing food for thought with the presentation by Harald Welzer (FUTURZWEI. Stiftung Zukunftsfähigkeit). Degrowth and digitalization are seen by renowned scientists as a necessary model or means of achieving climate targets. Harald Welzer will also address critics of these positions and at the same time show the participants perspectives of the municipal circular economy. Together with Christina Dornack (German Advisory Council on the Environment), Patrick Hasenkamp (VKU), Florian Kammerer (BMUV), Peter Kurth (BDE) and Michael Thews (SPD Member of Parliament), we will discuss the current status of the German circular economy strategy, which will be the focus of waste policy in the second half of the legislative period. We are also looking forward to exciting presentations by Holger Thärichen (VKU) on emissions trading and Pascal Wunderlich on electric and hydrogen vehicles, as well as specialist contributions from the [GGSC] lawyers. Our entire program is divided into the following thematic blocks: [A] National circular economy strategy On the second day of the event, you will then have the choice between the two specialist forums "Allocation and organization" and "Statutes/everyday issues" in the topic block [E] , which, in addition to several short presentations, will provide an opportunity for an in-depth technical exchange and answers to your questions in a somewhat smaller group. Our face-to-face event will take place at our popular, long-standing venue Umweltforum Auferstehungskirche in Berlin-Friedrichshain. There - and at our evening event directly on the banks of the Spree - there will be plenty of opportunity for direct exchange in a convivial atmosphere. |
