Team Soil
Intention
Initially the work group “Soil“ has the ambition to gather and to provide soil parameters, that are needed for the model implementation. Therefore disturbed and undisturbed samples were taken, while establishing two measuring fields with Time Domain Reflectrometry (TDR) for determination of the soil water content and Tensiometer technics for determination of pore water pressure. Since summer 2005 the mentioned measuring stations are collecting data by now. These data will be used for calibration of the hydrological model BROOK90 and to characterize the water balance of the two measuring sites quit well. Due to the very heterogeneous appearance of the two sites geophysical methods (EM38) were used to specify the soil attributes already.
Beyond, in a next step some soil parameter will be regionalized by extending the gathered data with information of the site ecological map of forest stands for the model use and for establishing a general system of water balance estimation of forest sites.
