How safe is flying during the pandemic? The New York Times quotes research results from the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences
A recent article in The New York Times of 25 November 2020 deals with the questions of whether and how safe flying is right now during the corona pandemic. In the article numerous international experts with their research knowledge have their say - among them PD Dr. Michael Schultz from the TU Dresden. He is doing researches as a scientific assistant at the Chair of Air Transport Technology and Logistics of Prof. Hartmut Fricke, at the Institute for Logistics and Aviation withing the faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences "Friedrich List".

The New York Times article quotes from the study "Evaluation of Aircraft Boarding Scenarios Considering Reduced Transmissions Risk" published by Dr. Michael Schultz and Dr. Jörg Fuchte, Senior Specialist R&T Interiors at Diehl Aviation in Hamburg, in June 2020. Shortly after its publication, the BBC had already taken up the study of the Dresden and Hamburg aviation specialists and reported on it under the title: "In virus terms, boarding is one of the riskiest parts of flying. How can airlines keep passengers apart - and still take off on time?".
