Studying at the Chair of Air Transport Technology and Logistics
The Chair of Air Transport Technology and Logistics is responsible for the diploma degree course of Transport Engineering in the department of Transportation System Engineering and Logistics with the main subject of air transportation. In addition, the Master’s progran “Air Transport and Logistics” is taught and supervised at the chair. Furthermore, many students of other TU Dresden study programs (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Economic Sciences and Transport Engineering) attend our lectures, too.
Study opportunities
As part of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences "Friedrich List", the Institute of Logistics and Aviation with the chair of Air Transport Technology and Logistics , the chair of Traffic Flow Science and the chair of Helicopter Technologies is responsible for the submission of a high rate of the study contents for the following study programs:
- Diploma program in Transport Engineering in the field of study "Transport System Technology and Logistics" with the focus on "Air Traffic
- Master's Degree in Air Transport and Logistics (Link to the Introduction slides: hier)
The lectures mainly focus on the technological basics of an aircraft and its engine as well as the characteristics of its operational environment.
Furthermore, the study program includes method- and process-oriented expertise in the fields of safety and security, airport design and operation, airline management, flight planning, implementation and monitoring as well as air traffic control and traffic flow control.
In addition to the training of undergraduate students the chair teaches the most important basics for the operational and logistical design of the air transport as part of the basic studies in the field of Transport Engineering. Furthermore, we regularly host students of aerospace engineering, computer science, economics and transport, both in the basic and main study courses.
Thanks to the existing ERASMUS+ agreements of the professorship with prestigious universities in other European countries the capabilities gained at the IFL may be further improved by means of this optional program!
