The chair of Traffic Flow Science
The chair focuses upon the theoretical bases of traffic flows on networks as well as upon methods of the analysis, assessment, planning and control of traffic systems. Therefore methods from other science areas like mathematics, physics and informatics generally and especially statistics, operation theory and operation are applied.
Employees of differnet professions such as traffic engineers, traffic economists, mathematicians and information scientists are part of the chair.
The employees provide lectures and exercises for the graduate degree program transport engineering, bachelor's degree program in transport economics and master's degree program railway system engineering.
Research at the Chair of Traffic Flow Theory focuses on the application and further development of methods/models of statistics, forecasting, operation research, etc. for analysing logistical processes and creating software for planning traffic/transport processes.
