Optimization Procedures
extent | 1 semester (basic studies during 4th semester) summer semester: 1 credit hour lecture, 1 credit hour training 2 credit points |
---|---|
lecturers | Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Karl Nachtigall (lecturer in charge) Dr.-Ing. Sven-Orlev Neufert Dr.-Ing. Steffen Marx |
intention of the lecture | The course gives an overview over the classic and the modern optmization theory. Linear optimization problems and network algorithms (like shortest paths, optimization of traffic flows, etc.) are prioratised. The computer-aided solution of complex optimization problems resulting from practical experiences demands a suitable mathematical task modelling. The requisite skills in abstraction and modelling are trained with the help of practical transportation experiences during the lecture. |
