Capability research: How can electromobility contribute towards air pollution goals?
This question is at the core of a German-Czech funding project by the Landeshauptstadt Dresden and the city of Litoměřic. The study deals with cross-border exchange and cooperation in the field of developing sustainable mobility solutions, with special consideration for electromobility.
For this purpose, the current state of mobility, travel behavior, vehicle fleet, charging infrastructure, and environmental and climate impact of traffic in Dresden will be analysed and assessed.
In a second step, we will create scenarios for the development of electromobility based on the traffic development plan 2025+ (Verkehrsentwicklungsplan 2025plus). The potential of electromobility both for public and individual transport will be of interest.
Using the results from the first two steps, we will then develop possible measures for supporting electromobility and estimate their effect. Amongst others we will discuss how electromobility can be integrated into other sustainable transport projects, such as Car- and Bikesharing or parking management.
In a final step, we will estimate whether the results of the capability research study carried out in the city of Dresden are applicable to other, smaller cities and towns. Since the nearby city of Meißen is comparable in size to Litoměřic, we will demonstrate this using the city's SrV-data.
