-
Don't be afraid of Big Data. How Big Data supports safe, demand-oriented and sustainable bicycle traffic planning. (Topic: IT and transportation)
-
Data as a raw material of the 21st century: Fields of application of Big Data and AI in transport planning (Topic: Computer science, programming and big data analysis)
-
Are you still playing or are you already researching? Traffic simulation between gaming and science (automation and IT)
-
Can we protect the climate by traveling by bus and train? And why do railroads also have roads? (Topic: Climate, transport transition and railroads)
-
What do the energy and mobility transition have to do with real life? (Topic: climate/transport transition)
-
"Engineering studies for girls: That's not a contradiction! - We test technical skills in the flight simulator" (Topic: aviation and logistics)
- For schools there is the possibility to visit different laboratories of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences "Friedrich List"
- High school students of the 9th and 10th grade are able to work on a small project from our fields of work during a student internship. They will get to know the work methods at a research institute.

Fixed dates throughout the year
Uni-Day
Every year in May, TU Dresden will open its doors to prospective students, offering them the chance to discover over 100 of our degree programs. Plus, there will be representatives available to talk about housing, financing studies & living in Dresden. On Uni-Day, our faculty will also open its doors to give you an insight into our laboratories.
Uni-Live
One day at the university – student can experience the campus, eat at the Mensa, attend lectures, listen to special p resentations, visit different laboratories of the faculty as well as ask our current students questions. Uni-Live always takes place on a Thursday in the first half of January.
Dresden Science Night
Every Summer, numerous laboratories and facilities of the TU Dresden, among many other research institutions and companies in the city, open their doors - including the faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences!
We welcome you with a colorful program of experiments, demonstrations, lectures, and hands-on activities! Further information can be found here.
Career Day at the Transport Museum Dresden
Every year, the Transport Museum invites interested parties to a career day where educational institutions and companies from the (transport) engineering sector present their job opportunities from 10am to 4pm. The faculty is happy to give information on its six study programs!
Girls' Day
Do girls study at the faculty of Traffic and Transport Sciences?
Yes, indeed about one quarter of students are female - but we want more!
Use this day to get to know and experience the daily research routine at our faculty in the field of transport and mobility.
TAKE A LOOK – Saxony's open week
This format also gives pupils the chance to get a feel for professions and fields of studies each spring. In hands-on workshops (from grade 7) you can get an idea of transportation studies at the university. Take a look at how we contribute to the sustainable development of transport and infrastructure systems to meet society's growing mobility demands.
DLR School Lab
In the DLR_School_LAB, scientist at TU Dresden and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) are conducting research to answer energy and mobility questions of the future. At DLR_School_Lab, students can step into the shoes of junior researchers themselves and conduct exciting experiments.
Grade level: 9th to 12th grade
Further information can be found on the Lab's website.
Summer University
TU Dresden's Summer University enables prospective students of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to get to know student life for one week. They gain an insight into the study, research and career opportunities of the STEM disciplines in the science hub of Dresden. The Summer University lectures are held in German.
Offers throughout the year
For parents, teachers, companions – and for you! There is a lot to discover on our information platforms JuniorCampus (1st to 8th grade) and Uni testen (from grade 8). We offer students year-round events, events filled with experimenting, workshops, trial courses, offers during school holidays, summer schools, and much more in order to give them an impression of TU Dresden well in advance of their studies.
Expedition Campus is primarily aimed at students from 9th to 12th grade and is intended to encourage your career orientation. Students are able to get a feel of the campus life and get to know the range of courses offered.
