Nachhaltige Unternehmensführung (BA/D, dt.):

Corporate Social Responsibility (BA/D, dt.)

In der gegenwärtigen Weltwirtschaft erkennen viele vorausdenkende Führungspersönlichkeiten, dass geschäftliche Herausforderungen und gesellschaftliche Verantwortung miteinander verflochten sind; ehemals separate Modelle zur Maximierung von Unternehmensgewinnen auf der einen und der Wahrnehmung sozialer Verantwortung auf der anderen Seite weichen ganzheitlicheren, strategischeren und innovativeren Herangehensweisen. Diese Vorlesung soll dazu beitragen ein Verständnis für derartige globale Unternehmen und die sie umgebende soziale Dynamik zu entwickeln indem untersucht wird, wie private und staatliche Unternehmen auf die Herausforderungen einer globalisierten Wirtschaft und begrenzter Ressourcen reagieren.

Value Chain Management (BA/D, engl.)

This course will provide knowledge on understanding how environmental management systems and sustainability thinking can be embedded into company value chains, enhancing and advancing corporate sustainability and societal resilience. Lectures will be organized to cover the Primary Value Creation Stages of Procurement, Production, Sales and Disposal and the secondary value creation stages of research and development, transport, human resources and organization, marketing and finance. During the summer term of 2023, emphasis will be placed on biodiversity and its loss, investigating how companies can induce a positive impact through their value chain management.

Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement in der Praxis (BA/D, dt.)

Die Veranstaltung wird dieses Wintersemester wieder zusammen mit Herrn Dr. Peter Saling (BASF SE) als Blockseminar angeboten. Bitte tragen sie sich auf OPAL ein, wenn Sie definitiv an der Veranstaltung teilnehmen wollen!

Scenario Planning (BA/D, engl.)

Life is all about pursuing challenging, worthwhile goals. How do we prepare for a world 25 years into the future? One of the most innovative approaches to addressing that question is Scenario Planning, a method for first exploring the space of possible different futures and second, for developing success strategies suited to those possible futures. The aim is to succeed, no matter what the future will look like. This seminar uses a learning-by-doing team work approach. The specific target is to get to know Scenario Planning as an method while at the same time discovering strategic options for the European Commission that are likely to enhance work and societal life throughout the European community. The lecturer will be Dr. Martin Gillo, who was Saxony’s minister for economy and employment from 2002 to 2004 and afterwards member of the Saxon parliament until 2014. He studied Social Psychology and worked as consultant and manager for AMD in Germany and the USA before he took an active role in politics.

• Time and place: 2 x 3-day-block event dates will be announced on OPAL. The seminar is open for up to 20 students. Admission is on a first come, first serve basis

Nachhaltigkeitscontrolling (MA/D, dt.):

In dieser Lehrveranstaltung lernen Sie, nachhaltigkeitsorientiertes Denken in Entscheidungen zu integrieren. Nach Abschluss sind Sie befähigt, Nachhaltigkeitsanalysen durchzuführen sowie diese in unternehmerische Entscheidungen zu integrieren.

Resource Management (MA/D, engl.): 

Many raw material sources are reaching their limits due to the increasing material requirements of the industrialized and emerging countries as well as linear raw material flows. The scarcity of natural resources is reflected in rising prices and requires companies to rethink their use of resources. In this context, the course “Resource Management” is devoted to material and resource efficiency from a business perspective.

• Time and place: Thuesday, 11:10h - 12:40h, room SCH A117/H

Studienprojekte im Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement - PraxiSDG (MA/D, engl.):

The idea of praxiSDG is to activate knowledge, skills and intuition of participants in a target-oriented way of committing themselves to efforts for sustainability of institutions or corporations in the non-profit/civil-society sector (community-based learning). In doing so, participants learn to act as change agents in programme design, strategy or operative activities within their preferred partner organization (service learning). Based on the respective needs of the partner organizations, participants will design their individual projects in a collaborative way, including a precisely formulated aim for self-determined, sustainability-related action. This enables participants not only to learn about the significance of volunteerism, but also to evaluate and reflect its opportunities and risks vis-à-vis their individual study contexts.

Seminar Wissenschaftliches und Praktisches Arbeiten (WPA) (BA/D, dt.):

Im Seminar erlernen Sie die Grundlagen der Informationsrecherche und des Anfertigens wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten und verfügen dadurch über ausgewählte Schlüsselqualifikationen, die für wirtschaftswissenschaftliches Arbeiten in Studium und Beruf relevant sind. Das Thema der WPA an unserer Professur wird aus dem Bereich des Nachhaltigkeitsmanagements gewählt.
