Implementation of Management Accounting at the School Administration Office of the City of Dresden

Since 1996 the City of Dresden is modernising its administration. Projects have been started in order to implement elements of a new control system in some administrative offices, for example the school administration office. Necessary concepts for the new controlling system were developed and their implementation was supported. Three main aspects of this project were:

Definition and specification of the products
Design and implementation of the cost and activity accounting
Development of a database for the illustration of the facility management and for the implementation of cost and activity accounting prototypes

The main administrative office and the finance department have been supported intensively. Mainly questions of the advancement of administration from the view of control (esp. financial controlling) and accounting were dealt with. A workshop was held for the finance department dealing with the subject, which was experience with pilot projects from the view of the finance department
