Growing Research on Workplace Skills in the 21st century
What is the background to the project?
The background and motivation of GROW21 lies in the growing need to optimally prepare students for the challenges of modern (working) life.
What is the aim of GROW21?
GROW21 aims to promote the research and development of 21st Century Skills - skills that are essential for success in the workplace in the 21st century. These include critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and empathetic communication. These skills are of key importance in a rapidly changing and increasingly digitalized world, as they enable people to solve complex problems, think innovatively and adapt flexibly to new requirements.
How is GROW21 supported?
GROW21 is funded by the FOSTER program in the ENABLE2Research@TUD funding line, in which research-oriented teaching-learning activities at TU Dresden receive both financial and non-material support.
What is funded by GROW21 ?
The funds approved by FOSTER support the development, implementation, evaluation and documentation of a project seminar. In the seminar, students approach a selected 21st Century Skill on the basis of the theory of planned behavior and in the course of research-based learning. The students use research methods, develop their research skills and are sensitized to the relevance of the research object (=21st Century Skill) in a professional context.
The planned documentation in the form of a guideline is intended to facilitate the implementation of such a seminar within and across faculties in the long term and enable participating students to GROW in terms of their professional, methodological, social and personal skills.
