Dr. Feldbausch Award
The Faculty of Business and Economics of the TU Dresden and the Dr Feldbausch Foundation annually recognise outstanding doctorates of the faculty with with the Dr. Feldbausch Award.
For this award €5,000 are divided between a maximum of 2 awardees.
Requirement for an application is that the doctoral thesis must be completed in the period from 01/2022 to 12/2022 and graded with a mark of “summa cum laude”.
The following criteria are required for this proposal:
- A copy of the thesis;
- The expertises of the thesis;
- A CV (including a list of publications) of the person to be awarded.
The selection of the theses will be carried out by a jury consisting of representatives of the Dr. Feldbausch Foundation and the deanery college. All decisions are final and absolute.
Proposals made to this award may be addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics by February 20, 2023.
Professor Hilbert Publication Award
The Faculty of Business and Economics awards the Professor Hilbert Publication Award to early-career scholars who succeeded in publishing outstanding journal articles in 2022. The purpose of this award is to honor the scientific activities of doctoral students, postdocs, and junior professors of the Faculty of Business and Economics and to make their research visible to the outside world.
Eligible for the award are publications…
- accepted for publication in 2022 in a journal (no papers in conference proceedings)
- ranked at least with B (according to VHB-JOURQUAL3 or the "Handelsblatt-Liste VWL”)
A maximum of three publications can be awarded. The award is endowed with 500 € per publication.
Authors can nominate themselves for the award. Nominations must be sent to the Dean by January 31, 2023 (by email to: ) and include the following information:
- Publication in PDF format;
- CV (incl. publication list) of all authors who are early-career scholars at the Faculty;
- Brief explanation of why the submitted publication is considered award-worthy.

The to-be-awarded publications will be selected by a three-member committee in which professors from all main research groups (“Fachgruppen”) of the Faculty are represented. There is no right of appeal.
The award winners are expected to present their publication in the research colloquium of the Faculty of Business and Economics during the summer term 2023. The award ceremony will take place on the Day of the Faculty on May 10, 2023.
Dr. Händel Award
The aim of the annual award is ...
- to enable researchers of the Faculty of Business and Economics study and research visits abroad and
- to invite visiting researchers to the Faculty of Business and Economics.
A maximum of 1.000 € can be awarded. Criteria for the selection of the awardee are:
- Sustainability of the co-operation,
- promotion of young academics and
- the impact that the co-operation has on the faculty.
In general, only applications that refer to future projects will be funded.
Entitled to make a proposal are the professors of the faculty. The following criteria are required for making this proposal:
- A description of the project of the academic or visiting academic who will be funded;
- A CV of the academic or visiting academic who will be funded;
- A report of the professor making the proposal why this project is eligible.
Proposals made to this fund may be addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics via e-mail by 31 March, 2023 in the respective year.
Award of the Deutsche Bundesbank for the support of international research cooperations
The aim of the annual award is to support doctoral and postdoctoral candidates of the Faculty of Business and Economics in their efforts to establish and strengthen international research co-operations. Research stays abroad can be funded as well as inivitations auf international researchers to TU Dresden. The duration of the visit should be at least two weeks and up to a maximum of three months.
The invitation is addressed to young academics with a main research in Financial and Monetary Economics, Financial Economics and Statistics or Quantitative Methods.
The maximum funding amount per project applied for is €2,000.
A commission which consists of representatives of the college of the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Business and Economics and the German Federal Bank, Saxony and Thuringia Head Office decides on the distribution of the funds. All decisions are final and absolute.
The following criteria are required for this proposal:
- A description of the project (referring to the aims and tasks of the German Federal Bank);
- A CV and a list of publications;
- A report of the supervising professor making the proposal why this project is eligible;
- A confirmation of the inviting institution of the scheduled research visit.
Proposals made to this fund may be addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics. Deadline for application ist 31 March, 2023.
Professor Endriss Award
The aim of the annual award is to support students of the Faculty of Business and Economics who wants to study at a foreign university as part of their studies.
The price of €4,000 is divided between a maximum of 2 awardees.
Requirements for an application are:
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's or Diploma program of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the TU Dresden;
- Proof of an already planned study visit abroad for the winter semester 2023/2024 or the summer semester 2024 (e.g. the declaration of acceptance of a foreign university).
- Payment of the prize money is subject to confirmation of attendance by the host university.
Your application includes in one pdf file:
- Your letter of Motivation;
- Your CV;
- Your recent transcript of records;
- An acceptance letter of the foreign university.
A commission which consists of representatives of the college of the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Business and Economics and of nexus e.V. as well as a student decides on the distribution of the funds. Criteria for the selection are the university achievements, the non-university engagement as well as the presentation of the necessity of the stay abroad. All decisions are final and absolute.
nexus Award Special Commitment for the Faculty of Business and Economics
Every year, the alumni association nexus e.V. awards the Award for Special Commitment to the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. All current and former students and employees of the faculty can submit proposals.
