The Faculty of Business and Economics supports the high-quality digitalization of university teaching by providing innovative teaching-learning concepts and didactic guidance to teachers and students.

The targeted use of common e-learning elements offers big potential for multimedia enrichment of teaching, activation of learners and development of web-based learning and knowledge resources. As information and communication tools, digital media open up new ways of learning and cooperation between students, as well as in interacting with teachers.

Common E-learning Elements at the Faculty

E-learning elements Potential
Scripts, slides, video tutorials etc. available online ...flexibilize, supplement and deepen the (individual) learning process.
Lecture Recordings (E-Lectures)*

...offer opportunities for independent as well as flexible repetition and consolidation of relevant subject content. Lecture streams for selected courses in the subject areas of business administration, economics and business informatics can be found in Opal. You can also visit the websites of our chairs. 
Online-Seminars (Live-Sessions) ...create conditions for a synchronous and interactive exchange between teachers and learners on complex learning content.
Learning platforms

...serve the 

  • provision of content and services primarily for the support of face-to-face teaching (OPAL)
  • implementation of virtual teaching-learning formats of blended learning or virtual collaborative learning. In this context
  • promote (social, collaborative) learning platforms for the active acquisition of learning content and 
  • support (informal) learning and communication processes with the help of integrated functions of a wiki, forum, chat, or video conference system (e.g. via MS Teams). 
E-tests and online exams

...make it possible to check existing or newly acquired knowledge as an assurance of learning success 

  • in the course or also as exam preparation (e.g. via Opal, MS Forms)
  • substituting for or supplementing analog attendance examinations at the end of the semester by formative (accompanying) partial examinations during the semester.

Furthermore, online examinations can also be taken orally.

*Access requirements for E-learning Offers

The E-learning lecture streams are only accessible via the IP address range of the TU-Dresden. There are three possibilities for this:

  • Access on campus with your own notebook/smartphone via the WLAN network
  • Access from a pool PC at the university (opening hours of the computer science lab PC pools)
  • Access via VPN from the comfort of your own home (VPN note here)

Support for Lecturers

Lecturers wanting to conduct their courses and/or examinations digitally can find support from the Digital Teaching Team of the School of Civil Engineering and the Environment. To the website of the Digital Teaching Team of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering
