Information for Students (Start from Winter 2024)
This page describes the structure and content of the Bachelor's in Business Education and Management Training as offered to new students from the winter semester of 2024/25 onwards.

Structure and Course of Study
The Bachelor's degree program in Business Education and Management Training has a total workload of 180 credit points (CP). For full-time study, the standard study period is 6 semesters. Flexible part-time study is equally possible in Study Track I. Please find out more on our website Part-Time Study.
There are two study tracks available. While Study Track I is geared towards business and economics, Study Track II features a general education qualification track. In either study track, the program comprises:
- the Compulsory Area Business and Economics, addressing the disciplines' basics,
- followed by the Elective Area Business and Economics with numerous options for specialization,
- and the Bachelor's Thesis.
In addition, study track II contains the Qualification Track of your choice as a compulsory area.
Compulsory Area Business and Economics
This area endows you with introductory knowledge in the fields
- Business Administration and Economics,
- Business Information Systems,
- Business Education and Management Training,
- Methods and Procedures, and
- General Qualifications.

In Study Track I, the area comprises 105 CP. Depending on the qualification track, its size varies somewhat (90 - 110 CP) in Study Track II.
Elective Area Business and Economics
Once you have passed the Core Compulsory Modules Business and Economics, you may enter the elective area.
In Study Track I, the elective area, comprising 65 CP, starts with the 4th semester. It contains modules in the fields of Business Administration and Economics, Business Education and Management Training and Supplementary Qualifications. When choosing modules, you need to adhere to the following soft point limits:
- at least 15 CP in Business Education and Management Training, of which at least 10 CP must be from the field's core modules,
- at least 30 CP in Business Administration and Economics, and
- at most 20 CP in Supplementary Qualifications.
The fields Business Administration and Economics and Supplementary Qualifications contain various profiles for further specialization.
In the smaller Study Track II (30 CP), you must achieve:
- 10 CP in Business Education and Management Training, and
- 20 CP in Business Administration and Economics.
Specializing by chosing a profile is possible in the field Business Administration and Economics.

Qualification Track
In Study Track II, you take additional compulsory modules in one of the following qualification tracks:
- German language,
- English language,
- Ethics/Philosophy,
- Computer Science,
- History,
- French language,
- Mathematics.
The credit points to be earned vary between the qualification tracks (30 - 50 CP). You can see which modules are to be taken in which semesters in the qualification tracks' study plans, available via the menu item Study Documents below.
Bachelor's Thesis
With the Bachelor's Thesis, you demonstrate your skills in presenting and analyzing an economic problem in a scientific manner. The Bachelor Thesis takes nine weeks and earns 10 CP. It typically marks the end of your studies.
To start with the Bachelor's Thesis, you must have acquired at least 130 CP, including the entire Compulsory Area Business and Economics, and have participated as a test person in an empirical research study. Also, you must begin no later than the semester after completing the last module.
