The ZIH is the central point of contact regarding the acquisition of software at the TU Dresden.
Most software manufacturers offer rebates on software licenses for teaching purposes and for non-commercial research. There is a great variety of license types such as single-user or network licenses, licenses from framework agreements, from volume license agreements, and from campus and state agreements.
The ZIH endeavours to find the most reasonably-priced form of licensing for each specific application. This makes it possible for users to order inexpensive software through the ZIH.
