Service Desk

The Service Desk is the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all employees, students and guests of TUD Dresden University of Technology regarding all centrally offerd services. The staff at the service desk assist you with all of your questions regarding the services on offer. Requests which cannot be answered immediately will be noted by the staff and are handed over to the respective experts. You will then recieve a ticket number (just as you would for questions asked via email) from the Ticketsystem. With this ticket number you can learn more details about the current processing status of your question. Instructions on how to use our services can be found in the FAQ portal.

For operational reasons, the Service Desk will be closed on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Changed office hours at the turn of the year 2025/26
Service Desk:
- Monday, 22 December 2025: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (by phone and on site)
- Tuesday, 23 December 2025: closed
- Friday, 2 January 2026: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (by phone and on site)
The media technology/equipment rental service and the e-learning support will be closed on 22 and 23 December 2025, and on 2 January 2026.

Services from the Service Desk
The following services are provided at the service desk concerning the IT services of the TUD:
- personal consultation for questions regarding the IT services of the TUD Dresden University of Technology
- provision of instructions on how to use the IT services in the FAQ portal
- help for the activation of your ZIH login in the Self Service Portal
- resetting your ZIH account if you forget your password or 2nd factor/token
- help with the application and setup of PKI-Zertifikaten
- setup of WiFi/VPN
- editing plotting orders
- support regarding notebook rental
- help with the planning or arrangement of IT resources, consolidation of servers, relocation to other buildings, as well as application of large devices, and other consultation services
- consultation regarding the right choice and configuration of PC work stations, virtualization, networking and server consolidation
- help with the application of IT equipment

Media technology/equipment rental service at HSZ
The media technology lending desk is located on Bergstraße, on the first floor of the Hörsaalzentrum, in room E11.
