International Meeting on Type 1 Diabetes at CRTD
The semi-annual GPPAD (Global Platform for the Prevention of Autoimmune Diabetes) Study Group Meeting, brought together all the partners from the Freder1k and POInT study in Dresden on December 5-7. The meeting counted almost 100 participants and started with a joint training and the harmonization of the laboratory teams and a visit to the new Dresden study center.
The first day of the meeting took place at the DFG Center for Regenerative Therapies at the TU Dresden and included the presentation of the current type 1 diabetes studies and scientific talks. The highlight of the event was the stimulating round table discussion on "Should screenings for type 1 diabetes become part of healthcare?" with speakers from all over the world.
