THE "Future for ageing" PROJECT – FUTURE-Oriented TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUCCESSFUL AGING IN RURAL AREAS
Project description
This is a regional joint project between AWO Lausitz gGmbH, the Association of Saxon Housing Cooperatives, the CODIP and the Professorship for Software Technology at the Technical University of Dresden. It focuses on technical and digital solutions that facilitate and optimize the areas of housing, care and housing environment as well as living and social space. Our project addresses the rural region of the Lausitz (Lusatia).
We understand the demographic development as an opportunity, and we see technological, digital services and products as an innovative way of opportunities and support for the region to promote self-determined need-based housing within one's own four walls, to compensate for infrastructural deficits by intelligently linking to the living space and to make life in the place of residence attractive, to relieve caregiving relatives and persons as well as organizations who work in the care sector and to contribute to the networking and process optimization of the involved stakeholders.
We strive for need-based alignment and user orientation. On the one hand, we wish to guarantee sufficient awareness and access to such technical solutions through testing rooms. On the other hand, we hope to ensure sufficient qualifications. In alliance with our partners, we want to develop and establish Lusatia as a model region and as an innovator in the field of technical-digital solutions and technical support products (e.g. Ambient Assisted Living, Smart Home solutions) for housing, care, supply and living environment. In this way, we contribute to a successful aging process in rural regions and, with regard to the Zuse Campus, to increasing the attractiveness of the location for researchers and also for companies in Lusatia.
Networking and participation
Our regional alliance ZukunftAlter is a coalition of companies in the social and health sector, organizations and start-ups from the fields of business, finance, administration, institutions, associations, interest groups, research and educational institutions, local politicians and, of course, representatives of civil society. We perceive ourselves as a platform for efficient networking! We bring stakeholders together, develop sustainable solutions in a demographic context that are practical and need-oriented.
WE are looking for committed alliance partners who will help build our alliance, contribute to the continued development of our network and who would like to help shape solutions and design concepts together. The contact person at the CODIP of the Technical University of Dresden is Dr. Kristina Barczik.
Financing
The project is funded by a WIR! alliance of the 2nd funding round of the program “WIR! - Wandel durch Innovation in der Region”, initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The funding initiative WIR2! addresses projects that aim to establish innovations as driving forces for prosperity and an increase in the quality of life in structurally weak regions. Integrated and long-term approaches in the areas of “research, development and innovation” are supported by the formation of a regional WIR alliance.
