The CODIP as a research institute
Our research is carried out as part of third-party funded projects, supported by various funding agencies. In cooperation with regional, national and international partners, we work theory-based and application-oriented.

Current Projects from A to Z
Our research fields and activities are based on the defined goals of the respective projects. We are currently working on the following projects:
- The 4D Community Browser is a further development of the 4D Browser, which was developed in the BMBF junior research group HistStadt4D and offers multimedia access to historical photographs. The goal is to expand the innovative functions of the online research tool as well as to further anchor it in the community.
- The Arbeitskreis E-Learning is a scientific board that supports universities in Saxony in bundling and jointly developing their potential in the field of e-learning.
- Ausbilderakademie.digital: In cooperation with the Dresden Chamber of Trades and Crafts, innovative support and learning offers are created via smartphone app to support training supervisors.
- D2C2: In a joint project of ten Saxon universities and the BA Sachsen, innovations in digital teaching and their participatory implementation are being strengthened.
- Digitale Hochschulbildung in Sachsen: Promoting the continued development of digitally supported higher education in Saxony through support offers in the area of digital tools and digital methods as well as through a fellow program.
- The DIGIVID Erasmus+ project aims to support school and university teachers and student teachers in acquiring and developing digital skills and key competences
- The study success project Digitale Lehre Hand in Hand promotes and supports quality assurance and development in digital university teaching. E-scouts - student assistants who have been specially trained for this purpose - support the creation and further development of digital teaching and learning formats.
- In the EU-Fairplay Network, a roadmap, initial concepts and a catalog of measures for research and development are to be derived to make education in and with digital game worlds better and fairer across Europe.
- ELe-com: Job-related continuing education offering on the topic of e-commerce in the ILIAS learning management system enables target groups to learn adaptively through the use of micro-learning units and automated algorithms that respond to user behavior.
- FRACTION - Developing future-oriented academic curricula in Teacher Education with innovative methodologies for Nex-Gen Asian HEIs: The CODIP designs a curriculum for a one-year training program set up for teachers/lecturers of institutions of higher education. It will be implemented in 2021.
- Gemeinsam in die digitale Welt: The overall objective of the project is to increase the competence in the use of digital media for older people in the post-acquisition phase in rural areas.
- KoKoN (Competent collaboration in the network) aims to offer teachers simple and secure access to high-quality and didactically prepared teaching and learning methods and to enable cooperation among teachers.
- Kraft-Copilot – A learning and networking platform to promote health literacy among young informal carers
- Mobiles Studienassistenzsystem: Development of a gamified online study navigator in the LMS OPAL for the first semesters in STEM and teaching degree programs.
- MyEduLife: The blockchain as a tool for decentralized storage of individual continuing education biographies: Development and testing of tools for editing and presenting qualification portfolios.
- OLGA: Optimization of land use near stretches of water and on agricultural land for the sustainable development of the Dresden region, based on hydrological, economic, forestry and environmental psychology research and implementation work: Research to promote and evaluate participation and citizen science to consolidate a solution approach for implementing the EC WFD.
- OSM: Orientierungsstudium MINT supports students of STEM subjects with different (digital) offers within individual study phases to address early problems during their studies and to reduce dropout rates.
- ReGerecht: Developing and testing approaches to solving land use conflicts, involving urban, suburban and rural area stakeholders.
- STRENGTH focusses on strengthening inclusion opportunities for women with a migration background with digital learning
- T3W (The Third Way) is an inter-European cooperation with the aim to provide innovative and accessible learning programs for (upcoming) social entrepreneurs.
- tech4comp - Personalized competence development through scalable mentoring processes: Developing a digital mentoring workbench that provides recommendations on individualized intervention and support options in the teaching-learning process.
- UndiMeS - Teaching with digital media in Saxony: To promote and strengthen the media literacy of teachers by developing an online self-learning course, which gives teachers the opportunity for individual learning designed as in-service training.
- VISION: will provide students and teachers at universities with innovative online teaching and learning tools to meet individual learning needs and to focus on personalized learning in digital teaching in a pedagogically meaningful and competence-oriented way.
- weiter.digital: Strengthening further training options in SMEs through the development of digitally supported learning tools that are designed for use at work.
- ZukunftAlter: Alliance for efficient networking, testing of practical approaches and development of sustainable solutions in the technological and demographic context in Lusatia.
