General information regarding the Multimedia Language Center (MSZ)
The Multimedia Language Center at the TU Dresden is one of the 4 subcentres of the Center of Languages and Culture (LSK).
Constructed as a self-access center, all students and all staff are entitled to work in the MSZ, free of charge. The resources are designed for both students taking formal language courses and for the independent learner, and are presented to help to learn without a teacher. Many of the resources in the Center are self-contained - complete with exercises, guidance notes, answer keys and transcript.
Learners have access to an extensive multi-media collection of materials for both, general language and language for special purposes. The facilities include reference books, satellite television from around the world, a large library of audio and video recordings, and a range of computer workstations with free Internet access, thus providing access to language learning resources from around the world. On-line resources consist of dedicated language learning software, including multimedia courses, electronic dictionaries, encyclopaedias and newspapers on CD-ROM.
According to the cooperation agreement between the LSK and the faculty of SLW students of this department have the preference to use our services.
