Family festival

A celebration for everyone who loves family.

On Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., TUD invites students and employees with families to a colorful family festival in the courtyard of the Fritz-Foerster Building.

This year’s festival is once again supported by numerous partners, including the Dresden Student Services (Studentenwerk Dresden)—for which we extend our heartfelt thanks.

We hope the diverse program has something for everyone:

From the robot dog SPOT to the quantum computer Quarks to the “Katze Q” gaming lounge —science comes to life in a playful way here.
The band “Zugabe,” the interactive circus “Chaos,” and the TUD Children’s and Youth Dance Studio will keep the mood lively.
There will be plenty of opportunities for physical activity as well: The University Sports Center will provide sports and play equipment, and the campus fire department invites visitors to try their hand at target spraying—including a peek inside the fire truck.
With a children’s clothing swap, photo booth, face painting, craft station, wheel of fortune, and information booths, it’s sure to be an eventful afternoon.
Refreshments will be available for both small and large appetites—look forward to a delicious selection of food and drinks.
