Together. Global. Excellent. TU Dresden goes Horizon Europe.
Horizon Europe is the European Union’s flagship program for research and innovation that will play a major role in shaping our research landscape from 2021-2027. Endowed with a budget of €95.5 billion, the successor to Horizon 2020 is the world's largest research and innovation program ever.
Horizon Europe offers a wide variety of funding instruments and opportunities under one roof: from individual to cooperative projects, from bottom-up to top-down approaches, from European to world-wide initiatives, from basic and frontier research to applied research and innovation.
The central goal of Horizon Europe is to drive Europe's scientific and technological excellence and support collaborative research to address global societal challenges, such as those in the areas of health, climate, energy and mobility.
Since mid-June the work program for 2021 and 2022 is published across all funding lines. It addresses objectives and thematic areas for which a total of 14.7 billion euros will be made available. By this, attractive funding opportunities for TU Dresden's researchers are provided, especially with regard to topics that will help accelerate the green and digital transitions and will contribute to sustainable recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and to EU resilience against future crises.
