Call for funding applications for research and development projects for the ERDF funding guideline (SMS 2021-2027) in the health, care and social sectors
On 19.09.2024, the guideline of the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion (SMS) for funding from the ERDF 2021-2027 for "innovative approaches in the health and care sector" was published in the Saxon Official Gazette. A total of EUR 47.7 million can therefore be used from the ERDF for the transition regions for innovative solutions for the health, care and social economy.
The funding serves to implement the innovation strategy and is intended to strengthen the innovative power of Saxony's economy and thus its competitiveness. With the call for funding that has now been published, projects are to be selected in the competition that respond to the challenges of demographic change with a significantly increasing proportion of older people in the population, an increasing shortage of skilled workers in the School of Medicine, nursing and social care and the rising costs of this care by networking services and developing and applying new technologies in particular.
The funding conditions have been slightly modified with this call for funding. The Free State of Saxony is providing the grant as part of project funding as partial funding in the form of a subsidy of 80%. The own contribution must be provided from own funds ("cash"). In order to receive funding, the project must be a joint project between a research institution(s) and one or more companies, at least one of which is an SME (micro, small and medium-sized enterprises). The duration of the projects should not exceed 36 months and the projects should be completed by the end of 2027. The start should not be planned before 01.07.2025.
The digital application is submitted in two steps, starting with the submission of a project idea/project outline via the SAB funding portal, which for TU Dresden must be submitted via the EPC. Early contact with the EPC is requested. Companies should contact the approval office - Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB) - for advice before submitting a joint application.
