Luxmi ‘Lux’ Rajanayagam - Fellow am Institut für Internationales Recht, Geistiges Eigentum und Technikrecht
Luxmi ‘Lux’ Rajanayagam ist seit Mai Fellow am Institut für Internationales Recht, Geistiges Eigentum und Technikrecht der TU Dresden. Gemeinsam mit Prof. Dr. Anne Lauber-Rönsberg wird sie noch bis Anfang August in Dresden forschen und lehren.
Ihre Karriere im Internationalen Recht und Geistigem Eigentum began am King's College London mit einem LLM-Abschluss. Danach absolvierte Luxmi ‘Lux’ Rajanayagam erfolgreich einen MSc in Intellectual Property Management an der Queen Mary, University of London. Dieses Studium veranlasste sie ihre Promotion im Wirtschaftsrecht, insbesondere im Bereich des Markenrechts zu machen. London ist für Luxmi ‘Lux’ Rajanayagam eine wunderschöne Stadt, aber sie findet auch Dresden sehr interessant. „I never planned on working in Germany, but life is funny like that. It can offer opportunities far better than one ever imagined.”
What are your main interests as a researcher? Which topics do you focus on?
Currently, my main research interests are in trade mark law, but I hope to expand my focus to other areas of intellectual property law in the future.
What was your most interesting research topic so far?
One area I have especially enjoyed researching is the interplay of trade mark law and freedom of expression. This is an area I hope to delve into more in the future.
What does your current research focus on?
My current research focus concerns the protection of fashion through trade mark law.
Which item do you absolutely need at your workplace?
I absolutely need my computer, and I am always grateful when I have access to a nearby printer.

Which book did you recently read? / Which series did you watch recently?
The last book I read was Ghacher Chochar by Vivek Shanbag. I just finished watching Ozark and the final season of Peaky Blinders is next on my list.
