Courage! 2018 - Programme booklet now online
The number of racist attacks has dropped again after a massive increase last year. Nevertheless, racist violence and racist verbal injuries still persist and do not stop at the campus. Therefore: Racism concerns us all - but what to do? The events of „Courage: Wissen, Sehen, Handeln!“ provide answers and offer options for action.
Wissen! What is racism? How does it manifest itself? In what contexts does it occur? What is the history of racism? What can a university do against racism? The lectures by experts help to recognise and understand racism.
Sehen! How is racism negotiated in art and culture? Can art and culture give a voice to those affected by racism and discrimination? What thought processes can (only) artistic-cultural practice initiate? Numerous cultural events in cooperation with Dresden's art and educational institutions invite you to change your perspective.
Handeln! What can I do if I become a victim or witness of a racist attack? What am I allowed to do? How do I argue against right-wing slogans? How do I deal with racism as a victim? Workshops provide answers and practical tips.
You can now find the current programme booklet and further information about this year's "Courage!" series here.
