New series of events "Vielfalt im Dialog" in autumn/winter 2020
We cordially invite you to our new event series "Vielfalt im Dialog", which we are organising in cooperation with the two non-university institutions anDemos - Institute for Applied Democracy and Social Research, the Kulturbüro Sachsen and civil society cooperation partners.
In autumn and winter 2020, we would like to enter into conversation with a broad public in Saxony about migration issues. Using a variety of formats, we will jointly develop and discuss new perspectives on issues of migration society against the backdrop of current research findings and practical experience.
The first event will be the panel discussion "Erinnerungsräume von Bewegungsgeschichten - BPoC Kollektive im Transformationsprozess" on 29th October 2020, which we are organising in cooperation with Mittweida University of Applied Sciences as part of the conference "Im Osten was Neues? Intersektionale Migrantische - BIPoC Perspektiven auf 30 Jahre (Wieder-)Vereinigungsprozess in Ostdeutschland".
In cooperation with Pro Jugend e.V., the artist and graphic designer Nazanin Zandi (zandigrafix) will lead the art workshop "Was bedeutet uns Vielfalt? Dippoldiswalde im Dialog" with the 8th graders of the Oberschule am Pfortenberg Dippoldiswalde.
Two online readings by author Olivia Wenzel (1000 Serpentinen Angst), nominated for the German Book Prize 2020, and historian and author Patrice Poutrus (Umkämpftes Asyl. Vom Nachkriegsdeutschland bis in die Gegenwart) conclude our series of events with joint conversations about belonging.
The event series is conceived and organised by the thematic circle "Migration und Integration" of the TU Dresden and two non-university institutions:
- Dr. Karoline Oehme-Jüngling (Centre for Integration Studies, TU Dresden)
- PD Dr. Julia Schulze Wessel (private lecturer at TU Dresden & University of Leipzig)
- Prof. Dr. Michael Kobel (Chair of Particle Physics, Welcome in Löbtau, Saxon Refugee Council)
- Dr. Oliviero Angeli (MIDEM, Institute for Political Science)
- anDemos - Institute for Applied Democracy and Social Research
- Saxony Cultural Office
The series of events is part of "TU Dresden im Dialog", which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Free State of Saxony as part of the Excellence Strategy of the federal and state governments.
