Workshop for young researchers/scientists of the SFB Invektivität and the TU Dresden
Time: 26.09.2019; 01.00 - 04.00 pm
Location: Zellescher Weg 17, 01069 Dresden; Room: B401
This workshop considers racist invective in its postcolonial historicity, rehearsed in a longue durée, routinised and stabilising racist social orders as invisible invective and insults. Racist disparagement and belittling are a form of subtle communication of violence, which is also called 'microaggressions' in research critical of racism. Only from a postcolonial and critical perspective of racism does the normality and invisibility of racist invective become visible and expressible in everyday knowledge as well as in the epistemologies of colonial societies. The central concern of the workshop is the analysis of persistent unnamed invective that perpetuates contemporary German society as a racially formed social order.
