Ringvorlesung 100 Jahre Grundschule in Deutschland – eine Schule für alle?
Die Ringvorlesung beginnt am Dienstag, dem 9. April 2019, und findet 14-täglich in Raum WEB 136, von 18:30 bis 20:00 Uhr, am Weberplatz 5 statt. Alle Interessierten sind herzlich eingeladen.
Als die Grundschule in Deutschland als gemeinsame Schule für alle Kinder mit ihrer Verankerung in der Weimarer Verfassung 1919 gegründet wurde, setzte eine Demokratisierung der Schule ein, die nun allen Kindern einen Zugang zu Bildung ermöglichen sollte. Intendiert war, die bestehenden Standesunterschiede zu überwinden und allen Kindern die Chance zu geben, erfolgreich eine Schullaufbahn zu durchlaufen. Nicht mehr die soziale Herkunft, sondern die schulischen Leistungen sollten hierfür entscheidend sein. Insofern befand sich die Grundschule von Anfang an im Spannungsfeld zwischen Förderung und Selektion. In den verschiedenen Zeiten und unter unterschiedlichen politischen Systemen hat die Grundschule sich mehrfach gewandelt, verschiedene institutionelle Formen angenommen und curriculare Änderungen durchlaufen. Ihr Anspruch aber, eine gemeinsame Schule für alle Kinder zu sein, ist geblieben. Im europäischen Vergleich jedoch fällt die Grundschule in Deutschland durch ihren geringen Integrationsgrad auf, denn sie umfasst in fast allen Bundesländern lediglich vier Schuljahre, ist institutionell und curricular vom Elementar- und Sekundarbereich getrennt und übernimmt frühzeitig für das nachfolgend gegliederte Schulsystem Selektionsaufgaben. Aktuelle internationale Vergleichsstudien konstatieren für die Grundschule in Deutschland einen engen Zusammenhang zwischen sozialer sowie sprachlich-kultureller Herkunft und Bildungserfolg. Von daher stellt sich die Frage, inwiefern die Grundschule in Deutschland tatsächlich den Anspruch erfüllen kann, eine Schule für alle Kinder zu sein. In der Ringvorlesung nähern sich Vertreter/innen der Grundschulpädagogik und verschiedener Grundschuldidaktiken dieser Fragestellung aus interdisziplinären Perspektiven.
