Short workshop as part of the 2024 GSW-Postdoc-Forum: “Text-generating AI and good scientific practice in the humanities and social sciences”
Members of the Digital Teaching team in the GSW school
The rapid development of text-generating artificial intelligence in recent years has had a fundamental impact on research and teaching in the humanities and social sciences. Against this background, the short workshop is dedicated to the question of how the use of TKI is in line with the principles of Good Scientific Practice (GWP). The event has two objectives. Firstly, it aims to provide information on the current status of the discussion. Relevant guidelines, recommendations and standards for dealing with TKIs will be presented. In addition to prominent problem areas such as authorship, plagiarism or data protection and how to deal with them, the main focus will be on the GWP-compliant use of the potential of TKI. Secondly, the workshop will provide an opportunity for exchange. The participants should share their experiences with challenges, potentials and problems in dealing with TKI in research and teaching and pass on knowledge and find answers to questions and problems in the joint discussion.
