Transformation EastAll quiet on the Eastern front? 35 years of transformation research in the Saxon longitudinal study
On October 23 at 6:30 pm, the Transformation East lecture series will continue at the COSMO Science Forum with an event by Prof. Dr. Hendrik Berth entitled “All quiet on the Eastern front? 35 years of transformation research in the Saxon longitudinal study”.
Prof. Dr. Hendrik Berth from the University Hospital's Department of Psychosocial Medicine will present the results of the Saxon Longitudinal Study. Since 1987, this study has been surveying socio-demographic characteristics, political attitudes and the experience of reunification and its effects on the health, working life and family formation of a constant cohort. Around 400 people from eastern Germany have been taking part in this survey since the age of 14, which means that this study can trace a unique course and will enter its 34th survey in 2024.
The data from the Saxon Longitudinal Study can also be accessed on GESIS: https://search.gesis.org/research_data/ZA6241
