GE.W.IN.N. - breaking new ground together- INtegratingmigrants into job-relevant qualifications through matching with Saxon companies and public institutions open to migration
Brief description:
Young people with a migration background have more difficulties in making the transition from general education schools to vocational training and are more frequently affected by unemployment and waiting lists than their peers with German parents. At the same time, the Saxon economy is also increasingly affected by demographic change and the progressive shortage of skilled workers.
The GE.W.IN.N project aims to motivate Saxon companies to take on young people with a migration background for an internship, an apprenticeship and ultimately a job. This is intended to lay the foundation for the long-term integration of young people with a migration background into the labor market. In this context, the primary task of the TUD Dresden University of Technology, Chair for Didactics of Vocational Learning, is to investigate how young people with a migrant background in Saxony remain in employment after completing their general schooling and to analyze Saxon networks of skilled workers with regard to their focus on integrating young employees with a migrant background.
