Chair of Social Education and Didactics of Social Education
The degree program is oriented around the requirements for teachers working in vocational schools. This includes examining both the fields of social pedagogy in which their future students will be working and their own future professional practice as teachers from a sound theoretical perspective. Alongside theoretical education, the Chair works in close collaboration with partners active in the fields of early childhood education, social pedagogy and technical schools for social pedagogy. As such, the degree program offers numerous opportunities for applying theory to practice. To this end, the Didactic Lab Tutors organize interesting excursions to various institutions for early childhood and social pedagogy every semester.
Didactic education as well as designing, testing and reflecting on your own teaching units are at the core of the degree program.
The most important topics of study are:
- Didactics of social pedagogy
- The history, theories and fields of work of social pedagogy
- Early childhood / kindergarten concepts
