S. Jäger /C. Heinze: Punishment Practice and Professional Behavior. Ambivalent Qualification Requirements for Teachers in Germany at the Beginning of the 19th Century
Stefanie Jäger and Carsten Heinze presented the initial results of the DFG project "Education and Vulnerability - Punishment in the Educational Dispositif of the 19th Century" at the International Standing Conference for the History of Education (ISCHE) 46 "Teachers and Teaching. History on the move" at the University of Lille. They reconstructed the theoretical justification and legitimization of pedagogical punishment at the beginning of the 19th century in the context of efforts to professionalize the teaching profession at lower schools.
