"Education and vulnerability - Punishment in the educational dispositive of the 19th century" DFG project launched

The aim of the project is to reconstruct the discourse on pedagogical punishment in the 'short 19th century', starting from the end of the 'Sattelzeit' (Koselleck) at the end of the 1820s to the beginning of the fin de siècle at the end of the 1880s. The aim is to make a contribution to a pedagogical historiography that asks about the historical conditions for the justification of violent pedagogical action and critically reflects on this.
