Our Identity
The Elementary School Learning and Research Workshop (LuFo) serves as a space for learning, teaching, and research where academic study, scholarship, and school-based practice are integrated. Its focus is on an active, inquiry-based exploration of issues related to teaching and learning in elementary school.
The LuFo provides students with the freedom to develop their own questions, adopt different perspectives, and practically test and critically reflect on pedagogical and subject-specific teaching approaches. In doing so, we view learning as a self-organized, exploratory, and collaborative process. A conscious engagement with children’s learning processes forms an important starting point for the development of professional pedagogical practice.
As an interface between the university and school practice, the LuFo creates opportunities for experimentation, exchange, and research. Collaborations with schools and extracurricular partners make it possible to develop, carry out, and jointly reflect on independent projects and student research initiatives.
