Description of the study
Is our attention span affected by daily input from TikTok and co? Can students really only concentrate for a short time? How can we as teachers adapt to the changing learning style of our students and make use of it in the classroom? In this seminar, we want to find out how teachers can use small "learning bites" to make their lessons varied and exciting. To do this, we will take a closer look at the concept of microlearning and bring it to life with practical examples.

Description
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. (Pablo Picasso)
In this seminar, we will look at the concept of creativity and various creativity techniques. Based on the premise that everyone is or can be creative, we want to find out how teachers can nurture and promote this talent in their students at school. In particular, we will focus on the integration of digital media and the many possibilities and opportunities they offer us, but also the hurdles we face as teachers when we want to be digitally creative or creatively digital. The seminar is of course not only aimed at students of "creative" subjects.

Description
The seminar first offers students the opportunity to deal with relevant theories on the concept of the public sphere. Building on this, the changes in the public sphere in recent years and decades will be examined and central concepts such as 'filter bubbles', 'media democracy', 'rabbit holes' etc. will be discussed along the previously discussed theoretical approaches to the public sphere. Finally, the seminar will focus on a joint consideration of the consequences for media education and the changed competence requirements in the course of the transformation of the public sphere. What answers does media education have to these challenges?
Learning objectives:
- Students will gain an insight into the academic discourse on the concept of the public sphere and the transformation of the public sphere.
- Students will be familiar with various competence frameworks and competence models relating to media literacy.
- Students transfer their knowledge of various competence models to the social challenges associated with the transformation of the public sphere.
- Students apply their knowledge of the central challenges of the digital structural change of the public sphere when discussing various media education approaches

Description
The seminar first offers students the opportunity to deal with relevant theories on democracy and participation. Building on this, the changes in political participation processes in the context of digitization will be examined and central concepts such as 'digital divide', 'e-democracy', 'net politics' etc. will be discussed along previously discussed theoretical approaches to democracy and political participation. Finally, the seminar will focus on the joint consideration of the consequences of media education and the changing competence requirements in view of the constantly growing importance of social media for political participation. What skills will citizens need to have in the future so that they can actively participate in social processes? What does digital civil courage look like in practice, for example? And what media education challenges does this entail (keyword: digital divide)?
