Welcome to the Institute of Social Pedagogy, Social Work and Welfare Sciences
Originally, the Institute of Social Pedagogy, Social Work and Welfare Sciences consisted of three chairs and one lectureship. It is currently divided into three Chairs:
- Chair of Counselling and Social Relations (held by Professor Dr. Cornelia Wustmann).
- Chair of Social Pedagogy (held by Professor Dr. Karin Bock)
- Chair of Social Pedagogy with a focus on the history and theories of social education (held by Professor Dr. Constanze Berndt)
The head of the institute is Professor Dr. Karin Bock.
Although the denomination of the Chairs represents a large part of the main areas of focus, the topics worked on by the Institute's staff are also characterized by great diversity. This is also reflected in the research projects carried out at the Institute as well as in the publications of the individual members of staff.
Degree programs
The Institute currently offers two degree programs: the Bachelor's degree program in Social Education, Social Work and Welfare Science and the research-oriented consecutive Master's degree program in Social Education.
