The Chair of Ancient History, the Institute of Classical Philology with the subjects Greek Studies and Latin Studies, as well as the Chairs of Catholic and Protestant Biblical Theology form the Classical Studies at TU Dresden. They have been cooperating closely in research and teaching for many years and there are intensive links with the DRESDEN-concept partners interested in antiquity.

The GenderConceptGroup is a cooperation of professors of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences who in their discipline have a research focus on gender studies. The group aims to enhance visibility of gender studies at TU Dresden.

Researching the various disparaging aspects communication can entail is the aim of the Collaborative Research Center 1285, which encompasses twelve different research projects. Disparaging aspects in communication can be a lot of things between subtle comments, invectives and aggressions bordering on violence. The broad variety of invectives via different media is not a new phenomenon either. The Center’s research covers historical aspects as well as different communication channels, such as literature and paintings, television and film, theatre and the internet.

A group of students of different ages, equipped with tablets, sitting in groups or alone in different rooms, working on projects, helping each other or consulting their teacher – is that what schools will look like in the 21st century? Researchers of TU Dresden and education experts are exploring this question and aim to actively develop school.

Meaning both 'continue to watch' or 'look ahead' - 'Weiter sehen' is a network of social scientists, linguists, and cultural scientists at TU Dresden who conduct research on TV series. The network aims to profit from the interdisciplinary potential of Dresden's research on popular seriality.

Im QuaBIS Projekt arbeiten Menschen mit Behinderungserfahrungen an der Universität. Wir machen an der TUD eine Art Ausbildung und lernen, wie wir unser Wissen mit Themen verbinden, die z.B. für die Lehrer:innenausbildung wichtig sind. Besonders an diesem Projekt ist, dass wir Teil der Universität sind. Wir sind Teil von Gremien, forschen und gestalten eigene Seminare. Unsere Arbeit zeigt, dass Inklusion überall notwendig ist und wie es funktionieren kann. Nicht nur an der Uni und nicht nur für behinderte Menschen.
