Analecta Cisterciensia to be co-published by FOVOG
As of January 01, 2021, Analecta Cisterciensia (ACi), the most important scholarly journal for the study of Cistercian history, will be co-published by the “Research Center for Comparative Religious History” (FOVOG).
The ACi were founded in 1945 as a scholarly periodical on the history of the Cistercian Order in all its aspects. Since 2007 they have been edited by the head of the “Europainstitut für Cistercienserforschung (EUCist)”, Prof. P. DDr. Alkuin Schachenmayr OCist, and during this time they have been developed into the leading organ of Cistercian history.
A new five-member board has now taken on the task of continuing this successful history as of January 01, 2021. Together with the Cistercians Prof. P. Dr. Moses Hamm OCist and P. Dr. Meinrad Tomann OCist from the monastery Heiligenkreuz in Austria as well as Dr. Joachim Werz, director of the research center “History of Religious Orders since Early Modern Times”, PD Dr. Mirko Breitenstein and PD Dr. Jörg Sonntag from FOVOG will now co-edit the ACi.
This cooperation is intended to keep the ACi anchored in the Cistercian Order as well as to integrate it even more strongly into the scholarly discussions of international research on religious orders.
