About us
As the Equal Opportunities Team of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, it is our task to advise and support students and teaching staff with their concerns and problems regarding equal treatment within the university. The basis for our work is the General Equal Treatment Act (download).
§ Section 1 The aim of the Act is to prevent or eliminate discrimination on the grounds of race or ethnic origin, gender, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual identity.
Confidentiality promise
All concerns and complaints will of course be treated confidentially. Postal and digital concerns are subject to the secrecy of correspondence and telecommunications (Art. 10 GG). Your request will only be forwarded with your expressed consent. Your consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Intersectionality
As white cis women, we are aware that we are more privileged than non-white women, lesbians, inter*, non-binary*, trans* and agender* people (FLINTA* for short). Due to these privileges, we feel obliged to stand up equally for those who experience marginalization in university and social structures that exceed our own.
The Equal Opportunities Officers are elected during the general University election by all members and students of the faculty for a three year term.
