Call for applications for the German Multimedia Prize mb21
Just in time for the start of the semester, the German Multimedia Prize mb21 is entering its next round. This year, the nationwide competition is once again looking for student work and projects that have been created at universities or colleges over the past two years. These can be semester projects as well as Bachelor's, Master's or other theses.
Multimedia products created by students up to the age of 25 on their own, in a team or under the supervision of professors and lecturers can be submitted. In the case of teams, the average age of all persons involved in the project counts (supervising professors and lecturers excluded). Apps, computer games or software projects, robotics, websites or interactive installations, projections and performances are just a few examples of projects that can be submitted and awarded at mb21. Each entrant may submit up to three projects from the years 2023-2025.
All nominees will be invited to Dresden for the final festival on November 20-22, 2025. In the four age categories and three special categories, prizes with a total value of 11,000 euros are up for grabs.
The deadline for entries is August 4, 2025.
The German Multimedia Award mb21 is the only nationwide competition that honors digital works and projects by children, teenagers and young adults. Since its foundation in 1998, it has developed into one of the most important forums for digital media culture in Germany.
